Prospecting and discovery opportunities
Own the hunt and discovery experience: give blitzers readable clues and meaningful choices about where to search, what to investigate and which finds merit recovery. The intended loop is hunt → discover → choose cargo → reach an eligible buyer → secure the reward. Rich mineral deposits are one possible discovery, not the entire progression model. Surface crystals may provide truthful approximate clues; exact search mechanics and artifact placement rules still need design. Avoid automatically revealing every prize, turning all discoveries into interchangeable payouts, or reducing ordinary rewards to manufacture grind. Gold remains Queen-exclusive. Scope boundaries: FEATURE-22 owns search clues and discovery opportunities. FEATURE-36 owns distinct cargo identity, quantities and capacity; FEATURE-37 owns exclusive buyer eligibility and sale; FEATURE-38 owns rare-cargo signals and exceptional transport journeys; FEATURE-40 owns recovered discoveries and collections. Finding or carrying an artifact does not bank it; an ordinary port cannot secure an artifact it does not accept. First integrated experiment: ordinary bulk cargo plus one discoverable artifact and one reachable exclusive buyer, using the supporting features above. If the artifact is rare or higher, its carrier signal is required as part of that experiment. Do not defer that signal while treating a rare artifact as complete. This is a bounded prototype spanning related items, not a claim that all supporting features belong to FEATURE-22 or are implemented. Longer journeys and broader content follow after the small loop works. Acceptance: a new blitzer can interpret clues, make an informed search choice, recognize a distinctive find and understand its buyer requirement before committing to transport. Playtesting should demonstrate purposeful exploration and recovery decisions beyond filling the hold at the nearest rock. Verify cockpit/chase readability and achievable recovery within sector lifetime. Cargo accounting, sale integrity and carrier-signal tests remain owned by the supporting items. Exact mechanics and reward balance remain open.

Deferred from current slice: Moving
Prospecting and discovery opportunities: In progress to In progress. [MCP] Terminology only: players are blitzers, not pilots (Mike, 2026-09-18). No scope, priority or status change.
Deferred from current slice: Owner reframed development around discovery, inventory, trading and a unified pilot interface; carry this unfinished work into the new slice.
Prospecting and discovery opportunities: Next up to In progress. [MCP] Discovery sprint continuation committed locally on codex/discovery-recovery: game d59282e; Coldboot c3102b3 (after foundation 41d9ab7/d560a21). First playable experiment now connects west-field clues, one four-cell Rift Relic, death/drop/reclaim, 900 m carrier signature, North Exchange exclusive recovery, account credits/discovery/recovery count and same-allocation recovery journal. Ordinary bulk banking remains intact. Checks: 37 backend tests; lost-response HTTP retry and rejoin under another syndicate; local journal restart; four peers at 150 ms added RTT and 2% loss; 720p/1080p cockpit/chase renders. Source 19.149/protocol 19; no push, export, live migration or deployment. Broader catalog/selectable goals/career-haul work and human acceptance remain; not shipped. Managed-container disk retention/destruction behavior remains a release review gate. Human test procedure is tests/discovery-recovery-playtest.md in the game repository.
Prospecting and discovery opportunities: Next up to Next up. [MCP] Owner approved reframing FEATURE-22 as Prospecting and discovery opportunities. Supersedes the earlier richer-deposits-first emphasis and requirement to treat all discovery work as later follow-on scope. Records the bounded hunt-to-exclusive-buyer experiment and explicit FEATURE-36/37/38/40 boundaries. Status stays Next; no implementation, acceptance, deployment or slice-membership change.
Prospecting and valuable deposits: Next up to Next up. [MCP] Owner-requested backlog refinement: preserve existing scope, connect new cargo/discovery work, distinguish confirmed requirements from playtester-feedback candidates. Current slice and acceptance status unchanged.
